Knowing that illiteracy still has a significant level in our country, the CCC’s Literacy School contributes to lower that level that represents 9 per cent of our population. It is a fantastic team led by Florbela Nunes, who is fighting the discrimination against people that don’t have a part in this information society that we live in.
Six students have already received the 4th grade diploma, after finishing the Literacy Program “Word”- Adult Literacy and others are going the same way. It has 3 teaching levels and also gives the student some notions about Maths, Geography and Grammar.
"The program "A Palavra" (the word) and it's study manuals was created to satisfy the needs of illiterate adults and a tool for those who are or wish to be literacy teachers.
As long as there is illiteracy, this must be the cause of many
The program “A Palavra” is fit to be the answer against illiteracy not only in Portugal but also in other Portuguese speaking countries.
