Mário Rui Boto is the Pastor and founder of the City Christian Centre (CCC), church founded in January 2002. Although, CCC history has began in 1995, when a biblical reflexion group starts in Pr. Mário house. That small group has grown very quickly, becoming a church of reference, in many areas, in our country.
Pastor Mário is passionate about the cause of Christ and His Church. He believes that the church has a central role in God’s plan to change the world. That’s his conviction that church should be a reference in society, assuming a role of renovation and transformation, bringing a true sense of Christ’s commandment: being salt and light in a world empty of references and true causes.
Pastor Mário believes in the new generation potential, as a part of the continual refreshing of church life, assuming their role, and bringing constantly something new. He became a releaser of the young generation potential, giving them the value, the opportunity and the responsibility, because he believes that that’s the only way to fulfil the pioneer spirit that marks every great moment in Christianity History.
He has born at 5th May 1968, in Loures, near Lisbon. His mother, who has became Christian recently, took him to church. When his father has accepted Jesus as Saviour, in 1980, he started to go to an evangelical church, taking himself the decision of following Jesus two years later.
Soon he understood that a total dedication to the cause of Christ was the sense of life he was looking for, so he started to study at the biblical school at January 1988, where he finished, distinctly, the Theological and Christian Education course.
The biggest challenge for his life, is to make sure that he can communicate the message of Jesus Christ in the best way he can. At he same time, he wants church to learn, day by day, the best way to make people know the transforming message of Jesus Christ, by far, the most wonderful message in the world.
Pastor Mário is married with Amélia and has 3 wonderful daughters: Catarina, Mariana and Filipa (Pipinha). He loves to do jogging and spear fishing, to watch a good movie with his family (when Pipinha authorizes that), walking and watch the sea.
